Our “Life Cycle of a Sea Turtle” lesson will introduce students to the life cycle of a sea turtle, their body parts, foods they eat, habitats that they live in, and how they interact with their environment. Main concepts of this lesson include: life cycles, structure & function of body parts, and ecosystem interactions & dynamics.

National Education Standards Fulfilled:

  • 3-LS1: Develop models to describe that organisms have unique and diverse life cycles, but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction, and death.

  • 4-LS1: Construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction.

Our “Get to Know Sea Turtles” lesson will introduce students to the basic information about the 7 species of sea turtles. Students will learn about the body parts of a sea turtle, foods they eat, habitats that they live in, and how they interact with their environment. Main concepts of this lesson include: structure & function of body parts and ecosystem interactions & dynamics.

National Education Standards Fulfilled:

  • 4-LS1: Construct an argument that plants and animals have internal and external structures that function to support survival, growth, behavior, and reproduction.

  • 5-LS2: Develop a model to describe the movement of matter among plants, animals, decomposers, and the environment.

Our “Threats to Sea Turtles” lesson will introduce students to the threats faced by sea turtles. Students will explore how human activities impact sea turtles and identify ways they can become responsible stewards of the environment.

National Education Standards Fulfilled:
